The Rose Bowl: The Original 'Bowl Game'

Located in Pasadena, California, Rose Bowl Stadium has been host to some of the most dramatic and emotional moments in college sports. The stadium has been hosting the Rose Bowl Game, the oldest of the bowl games, since January 1st 1923. Every year (except for 1942 due to WWII travel restrictions), the Rose Bowl has enjoyed the highest attendance of any bowl game in all of college football.

On top of the annual Rose Bowl Game, numerous other championship games have been played on the grounds of Rose Bowl Stadium. The Rose Bowl has hosted 4 BCS National Championship games in 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014, as well as the Super Bowl in 1977, 1980, 1983, 1987 and 1993.

This year will mark USC’s 34th appearance at the Rose Bowl. If USC prevails over Penn State, it will be their monumental 25th win. USC holds the records for most bowl appearances and wins by a long shot. It will be Penn State’s 4th appearance in the Rose Bowl, their first since 2009, their record in the bowl being 1-2.

There is still plenty of time before January 2nd to grab a Blingware USC championship cup! Cheer on the Trojans as they fight for a historic victory. Order now for yourself, or the Trojan fan in your life, and Tailgate Like a Champion.
